ARM Offers Jazelle Support with New Version of Arm Developer Suite Software
CAMBRIDGE, England, Dec. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- ARM, the industry's leading provider of 16/32-bit embedded RISC processor solutions, today announced that it has expanded its development tools portfolio with the introduction of the latest version of the ARM® Developer Suite(TM) software, version 1.2. This latest version of the established ARM software solution includes tools to support the industry-leading ARM Jazelle(TM) technology for Java(TM) hardware acceleration, as well as support for the latest ARM microprocessor cores and host support for Linux.
The ARM Developer Suite software provides engineers with everything they need to rapidly develop applications for devices based on the ARM architecture. The software is a best-in-class suite of development tools for the ARM architecture that includes compilers, debuggers and development environments. For the first time, developers will have support for the ARM Jazelle technology-enhanced family of microprocessor cores including the ARM7EJ-S(TM) and ARM926EJ-S(TM) cores.
This latest version of the ARM Developer Suite also includes host support for Red Hat Linux, allowing Linux users to utilize this software solution for the first time. The software also incorporates support for the ARM VFP9-S(TM) and the ARM VFP10(TM) vector floating-point coprocessors.
"We feel that it is important for engineers to have access to the best range of tools possible when designing devices based on the ARM architecture," said Krista Salter, product manager, ARM. "With the launch of version 1.2 of the ARM Developer Suite software, we are providing our customers and Partners with access to the very latest tools and support for the most recent microprocessor designs. By including capabilities such as support for Jazelle and Linux technologies, developers will be able to harness all the benefits of the ARM architecture and get their designs to market quickly and efficiently."
The ARM Developer Suite v1.2 is fully compatible with previous versions of ARM development tools. The ARM Developer Suite v1.2 is available now from ARM and its distribution network, priced at $6,500 for a floating license and $5,500 for a node-locked license.
