The TPO124 is a cost-efficient OTU2 muxponder. On the client side it has 8 SoftPorts, i.e. serial ports that can be configured to any protocol, any rate between 0.1 and 4Gbps. TPO124 supports both the standard G.709 ODU0/ODU1/ODUflex mappings as well as proprietary mappings into 155Mbps timeslots that allows for even more efficient bandwidth utilization. On the line side TPO124 has an OTU2 port.
TPO124 offers connectivity at ODU0, ODU1 and 155Mbps timeslot level. A mate interface allows two TPO124s to be connected together to generate an add/drop multiplexer with 16 client ports and 2 (OTU2) line ports with full (40Gbps) ODUk connectivity between all ports.

Overview
Key Features
- The TPO124 is a cost-efficient 10 Gbps OTN multiplexer on a single chip.
- The TPO124 supports ODU0 and ODUflex mapping and connectivity.
- The TPO124 supports flexible mixing of TDM clients, such as STM-1/4/16/OC-3/12/48 and packet clients, such as Ethernet, Fibre Channel, and video clients.
- A built-in ODU ADM provides efficient means for performing the same type of add-drop and protection functionality on the ODU level as you would normally find in a traditional SONET/SDH add-drop MUX at the virtual container (VCn)-level.
