MOSAID Announces Resignation of its General Counsel
OTTAWA, Ontario, Canada – May 16, 2006 - MOSAID Technologies Incorporated (TSX:MSD) today announced that James Skippen, Senior Vice President, Patent Licensing and General Counsel, will be resigning from his position with MOSAID effective June 19, 2006. Mr. Skippen will be leaving to take on the role of President and Chief Executive Officer of Wi-LAN Inc.
"Jim has made major contributions to MOSAID's success, particularly in the negotiation of patent licenses and in the assertion of our intellectual property rights in the courts," said George Cwynar, President and Chief Executive Officer. "We wish him well at Wi-LAN."
Effective June 19, 2006, Mr. Ted Galanthay, a member of MOSAID's Board of Directors, will assume the role of acting General Counsel and Senior VP of Patent Licensing, supported by MOSAID's intellectual property team, until a replacement is appointed for Mr. Skippen. Mr. Galanthay has over 35 years of experience in managing intellectual property matters for premier global companies such as IBM, STMicroelectronics and Harris Corporation, and has served as a Director of MOSAID since September 2005.
