Ericsson, Ordina enter strategic alliance - Ordina Technical Automation BV signs contract on strategic alliance for Bluetooth middleware and application development
September 3, 2003 - Ordina Technical Automation BV has entered into a strategic alliance with Ericsson Technology Licensing. Under the alliance, Ordina will take over Ericsson’s Emmen-based Bluetooth software development group and Ordina will become a member of Ericsson’s Bluetooth Software Partner Program.
Ordina will become one of the preferred suppliers of Bluetooth software development services to Ericsson Technology Licensing. The agreement also makes Ordina a member of Ericsson Bluetooth Software Partner program, under which the Bluetooth Intellectual Property of Ericsson Technology Licensing will be made available. The two parties will cooperate closely together on the commercial opportunities in the field of Bluetooth.
As a result of the close relationship that the two parties have built up over the past years, and the unique expertise of Ordina Technical Automation, the strategic alliance was a logical step for Ericsson Technology Licensing and Ordina. The agreement between the two parties will enable new Bluetooth applications to be developed and introduced into a broader range of markets, such as industrial automation, technical automation, finance market and public market.
