CSR Selects Cadence Palladium XP Platform for Development of ARM-based Automotive Infotainment Systems
SAN JOSE, Calif., May 20, 2014 -- Cadence Design Systems, Inc., a leader in global electronic design innovation, today announced that CSR plc (LSE: CSR; NASDAQ: CSRE) selected the Cadence® Palladium® XP verification computing platform for system and early firmware validation of ARM®-based automotive infotainment systems-on-chip (SoCs). Using Palladium Hybrid technology, CSR experienced a 200X speed-up for OS bringup, which shaved months off the development cycle.
“For our market-leading infotainment system offerings, differentiation using software is key, and pre-silicon OS bringup becomes an important tapeout condition” said Nir Maor, senior director, Architecture & Digital Design at CSR. “Using the Cadence Palladium Hybrid technology, we saw orders of magnitude speed-up for early Linux and Android bringup, allowing efficient pre-silicon software development and testing for our ARM-based SoC.”
Part of the Cadence System Development Suite, the Palladium XP platform is the industry’s first high-performance, special-purpose verification computing platform that unifies best-in-class simulation acceleration and emulation capabilities in a single environment.
