Comsys Presents ComMAX Solution at the IEEE 802.16 Conference in Israel
Tel Aviv, Israel, May 11, 2006-- Comsys Communication and Signal Processing, a leader in wireless baseband solutions, presented ComMAX™, a full Mobile WiMAX baseband processor at the IEEE 802.16 conference held in Tel-Aviv. ComMAX is targeted at terminal manufacturers and provides a comprehensive multimode (IEEE802.16e) Mobile WiMAX/Cellular solution, based on a flexible architecture and offers substantial power-saving features.
The ComMAX solution has been specifically designed with a flexible architecture to support current and future Mobile WiMAX profiles, including TDD and FDD. Optimised for low-power operation, ComMAX features an optimal software/hardware partitioning. The architecture incorporates a software-defined OFDM/A modem core, and can support WiMAX, 3GPP LTE, 802.20 and future 4G technologies.
Comsys’ new Mobile WiMAX baseband processor targets Handset OEMs/ODMs, PDA designers and SD Card manufacturers. The processor and accompanying reference designs will be available in the market during 2007.
The IEEE 802.16 and WiMAX Forum™ Technical and Certification Working Groups conferences will be held in Tel-Aviv and Caesarea during May 8-17 and are sponsored by a few leading Israeli companies including Comsys.
"Comsys is a member of both the IEEE 802.16 and WiMAX Forum and is proud to take part in this event, which is being held for the first time in Israel”, said Elkana Ben-Sinai, Comsys CEO. “Comsys is investing a lot of efforts in the development of new 4G solutions. We are happy for the opportunity to promote WiMAX activities in Israel and meet other industry leaders eager to drive WiMAX deployment forward. The ComMAX solution will be key in realizing Mobile WiMAX market potential, estimated to generate $53 billion revenue in 2011”.
