The Cortus IoT Platform is a solution for creating a single chip DASH 7 SoC, requiring minimal external components. The wide range of interfacing options and ultra low power consumption makes this the ideal solution for the Internet of Things.
At the heart of the platform is a high performance, low power radio transceiver, with a -115 dbm receive sensitivity (25 kHz channel) and 10 dBm output power. The selectivity of better than 55 dBc (at 200 kHz) makes commutation reliable even in the noisy ISM bands. Built-in antenna matching ensures that antenna selection is eased without compromising performance. Ultra low power RSSI enables channel scanning without compromising battery life.
The Cortus APS25 processor not only has the performance for the full DASH 7 protocol stack, but also to run sophisticated user developed applications - key for edge computing applications. The 512 KBytes of Flash memory coupled with 64 KBytes of RAM enable complex applications and over the air firmware update to be implemented. The 2048 Bytes of always on RAM are retained and the real time oscillator maintained in operation in even the lowest power saving state, enabling state retention across periods when the chip is basically turned off.
The Cortus IoT Platform operates from a single 3 V supply, permitting operation with a single lithium button cell. A number of power modes are offered, ensuring up to ten years battery life for an edge device in the field without having to replace the battery. Coupled with these hardware features, the DASH7 protocol is ideally suited as its burst mode operation with short packets conserves power. A wide selection of peripherals, I2C, SPI, UART, GPIO, PWM, 12 bit ADC … ensure that nearly all IoT applications are supported.
Security is fully supported with hardware AES and a true random number generator (TRNG).
