Video DAC

Overview

The Video DAC IP is designed for transmitting analog video signals from a video source device to a display device, which can be used to build many analog video interfaces, such as Composite (CVBS, AHD), S-Video (Y/C) and Component (YPrPb, RGB/VGA) video interfaces. Innosilicon Video DAC IP offers reliable implementation of analog video interfaces, which can be integrated in the SoCs used in multimedia devices.

The Video DAC IP consists of the digital logic and the physical layer. The digital logic receives video, clock, and control signals from the SoC. It outputs video data to the physical layer for digital to analog conversion. The physical layer contains 1~4 channels of current-steering DACs, bias, and cable detection circuits. Each DAC receives 10-bit parallel input data and converts the digital data to analog current output. The update rate is up to 350MHz.
