NFC Transceiver

Overview

The NFC transceiver is considered for adding NFC functionality to mobile devices and other applications having embedded MCU. The device can perform in one of three modes: RFID/NFC reader, NFC Peer, or Card Emulation mode. This 13.56 MHz NFC IP in generic low-cost incompatibility with ISO/IEC 14443 and ISO15693 suited for NFC-equipped smartphone. It covers a legacy passive mode, (battery-less) and an active mode (battery-assisted), for longer range or poor antenna. With the add-on of quality set and execution of custom, RFID protocols can be attained by using direct modes with MCU-controlled bit coding and framing. Straight access to RF FrontEnd control registers permits fine-tuning of different parameters at the physical layer.

Key Features

  • Differential antenna interfaces with dedicated external capacitors for antenna impedance matching
  • Supports ISO14443 A standards in both reader and card emulation mode
  • 27.56 MHz Xtal for active mode only
