Fully-integrated 32 KHz crystal oscillator with countermeasures against fault injection attacks
Overview
The Secure Crystal Oscillator is a fully integrated analog IP generating a secure clock signal through the resonance of an external crystal.
Key Features
- fully-integrated crystal oscillator (the crystal is the only external component)
- generation of a 32768 Hz clock signal (customized on request)
- state-of-the-art countermeasures against fault injection attacks: frequency monitor (null, low and high frequency detection); frequency glitch detectors (positive and negative glitch detection)
- power supply voltage range: core supply voltage ±10%
- operating junction temperature range: -40°C to 125°C
- characteristics of a 65 nm implementation: frequency tolerance smaller than ±0.05%; duty-cycle comprised between 30% and 70%; setup time shorter than 1 s; operating current consumption lower than 10 µA; silicon area smaller than 0.2 mm²
- silicon proven in 130 nm and 65 nm CMOS process
