High-voltage LDO

Overview

STAR5011 is a high voltage low dropout regulator (LDO) capable of converting 8 to 14.1 V input down to 5.5 to 12 V output in a 180nm 32V BCD process. The LDO is configurable with 4 bit digital input, which selects output voltage linearly. STAR5011 is capable of up to 15mA of output with external capacitor of 2.3uF The regulator is fully integrated with biasing circuitry, requiring only a 1.25 bandgap voltage. The architecture of LDO is simple, with single stage current mirror operational amplifier in a feedback loop. With sufficient gain and phase margin of the opamp, the regulator is stable with 1% output voltage accuracy. The regulator has a 20 dB PSRR across wide range of frequency, from DC to 100 MHz.
