The modern age is heavily dependent on chips produced by the semiconductor industry, but today, the industry has been relegated to a secondary position in the technology space. Consequently, the semiconductor ecosystem companies have been deprived of talent and capital and thus the speed of innovation in the industry has reduced. There is a dearth of startup companies and many markets in the semiconductor space have become zero sum games. This has also resulted in lower valuation multiples and lower growth in shareholder value across the industry.
