One of the most actively discussed and debated topics in the hardware IP business is software – ecosystem, legacy, compatibility, diversity, complexity, speed of change and where the innovative trends are ultimately leading. Last week at IP-ESC, I noted that in many respects software rules our world. It is most definitely the elephant in the room, and will require quite a lot of thought and space to examine in sufficient detail. Let’s do it!
