Bluetooth Low Energy

Overview

The BSi Bluetooth Low Energy IP is an extremely energy-efficient solution with low MIPs and a low gate count. It is ideally suited for a broad spectrum of IoT applications. These include smartwatches, wearable sensors for medical and sports use (monitoring heart rate, glucose levels, temperature), audio applications such as True Wireless Stereo earbuds and hearing aids, remote controls, PC peripherals, toys, environmental sensors, location beacons, and numerous other machine-to-machine communications. This makes it a versatile and valuable tool in the rapidly evolving world of IoT technology.
The Bluetooth Low Energy IP, which is compatible with the latest Bluetooth LE specifications, comprises a hardware baseband controller and a full software stack that includes an extensive range of services and profiles.

The hardware baseband controller, provided as a Verilog IP package, handles packet encoding/decoding and frame scheduling. It is supplemented by an embedded hardware AES128 encryption engine, with the option for additional crypto engines.
