12-Bit Low power successive-approximation ADC

Overview

This IP concerns a general purpose Analog to Digital Converter (ADC) for low power applications. It is a charge redistribution successive-approximation type converter. Since it contains only one comparator and no power hungry operational amplifiers, its power consumption is low. Furthermore, the ADC contains no circuits with static power consumption, making the power consumption of the ADC fully proportional to the sample-rate. This property makes the ADC ideally suitable for low duty-cycle sensor applications and other applications which benefit from a low power consumption. The single-ended signal input make the converter suitable for a broad range of applications.
