Fundamentals of Booting for Embedded Processors

One of the essential operations of any embedded processor is the booting process. However, despite the apparent simplicity of the boot process, the options associated with booting a processor can actually be quite complex, in order to allow for the greatest flexibility in an application. There are multiple ways to boot, multiple purposes behind booting, and multiple factors that affect the process. This article will explore these issues in an attempt to deliver a clearer overall picture of what is entailed by the embedded booting process.
