What Exactly Is a "Customizable" Verification IP?
Last week we talked about how to spot a Complete Verification IP via a handy checklist. However, a desirable verification IP solution that helps save you a ton of time and effort should also be customization ready. If not, customization can end up being a nightmare for both the customer and the vendor. This is even more important for complete Verification IP solutions - as completeness may come with rigidity.
Unless customization is thought out in advance there will be loss of productivity due to longer setup and execution time. You need to make sure that the Verification IP solutions you purchase are customization ready. In today's world, building a verification IP solution that is Reusable, Configurable and Programmable is not optional but mandatory.
