Velogix, FPGA startup seeks to sample app-specific designs

— Velogix Inc, formerly known as Flexlogics, is a startup programmable logic company looking to develop sample designs showcasing systems that demonstrate superior capabilities on targeted applications, according to its website.
Velogix (Santa Clara, Calif.), backed by Sequoia Capital, U.S. Venture Partners and Horizon Ventures, was founded in October 2002 by Ashok Vittal and Hare Verma. It is developing a family of integrated high-performance programmable products. The level of venture capital was not disclosed but the company has also attracted former Altera executive Erik Cleage to serve as chairman of the company’s board of directors.
