videantis showcases unified video/vision processor solution at Mobile World Congress
Hannover, Germany, February 18, 2014 – videantis GmbH will showcase its latest low power computer vision and video coding solutions at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona next week. Compared to a host CPU, the licensable videantis processor IP provides a 100x performance increase and 1000x power reduction, ideal for bringing HD/UHD video coding and novel always-on computer vision and image processing algorithms to mobile application processors.
Technologies on display
- Flexible, multi-format HD/UHD video encode/decode. With support for over 15 video codecs, including 10/12-bit, low-delay and HD/UHD resolutions, videantis supports new mobile use cases such as remote displays, and high-quality, multi-party video conferencing.
- Low power computer vision acceleration. Algorithms such as face detection, feature detection, feature tracking, object detection, and skin detection. These algorithms underlie new mobile use models such as gesture recognition, gaze estimation, depth sensing, augmented reality and face analysis.
- OpenCV acceleration. The videantis computer vision solution supports a variety of vision APIs. OpenCV is supported out of the box for easy integration and acceleration.
- Integration with Android. The videantis unified video/vision processor can easily be integrated with Android. On display will be an Android-based tablet hooked up to the videantis development board, which offloads vision and video processing.
