SoC Solutions announces the availability of a GPS baseband receiver running on a Starcore platform
Duluth, GA – April 20, 2004 – SoC Solutions has developed a scalable Global Positioning System (GPS) baseband receiver that performs all of the satellite correlation, acquisition and tracking and digital signal processing needed for receiving and processing up to 16 GPS satellite channels. Available immediately as a licensable IP solution, the GPS-B3 is integrated on the StarCore platform providing an effective solution for adding GPS functionality to portable consumer products that include cell phones, PDAs, but also automotive vehicle tracking, and asset tracking. The GPS-B3 is an RTL intellectual property (IP) block that can be fully integrated into the StarCore platform to enable easy implementation into a system-on-chip solution.
“SoC Solutions’ ability to provide GPS functionality in a licensable block easily integrated with our platform provides significant savings in time to market and system costs for our customers. We’re pleased to have companies like SoC Solutions as part of our Alliance program.” said Philippe Bettler, Manager of Strategic Alliances for StarCore LLC.
“We are very pleased with the performance of the SC1000 and how easy it was to integrate our GPS-B3 core to the StarCore platform.” said Jim Bruister, President/CEO of SoC Solutions. “The SC1000 was able to perform all the GPS tracking and navigation message decoding while utilizing less than 10 MHz of its processing power. This is perfect for multifunctional SoCs with GPS capability requirements.”
SoC Solutions, based in Duluth, Georgia, develops and licenses products for the system–on-chip (SOC) and embedded systems design markets. They provide state of the art pre-integrated IP platform reference designs for SoCs and FPGAs.
