MOSAID Completes Sale of Memory Test Assets to Teradyne
OTTAWA, Ontario – March 28, 2007 - MOSAID Technologies Incorporated (TSX: MSD) today announced that the Company has concluded the sale of certain assets of its Systems Division's automatic test equipment (ATE) business to Teradyne, Inc. (NYSE:TER) for $20 million in cash.
MOSAID will wind down its remaining ATE business by April 30, 2007 and has arranged with EPM Test Incorporated to provide ongoing sales, support and service for the installed base of MOSAID memory test systems. EPM Test is a new company founded by Altaf Padamshi, currently Director of Customer Technical Support for MOSAID Systems, and Robert Evans, currently Vice President of Sales, MOSAID Systems. The intention is that all of MOSAID Systems' existing purchase orders for training, service contacts and warranty and software support will be fulfilled by EPM Test.
