Faraday Expands its SIP Capacities with the Establishment of the New R&D Center in NeiHu
HSINCHU, TAIWAN– November 1 , 2004 -- Faraday Technology Corporation (TAIEX: 3035), a leading fabless ASIC and IP provider, announced the establishment of a new research and development center in NeiHu, Taipei on November 1 st , 2004. The new center enables Faraday to attract some of brightest designers in the greater Taipei area, which would further expand Faraday's competence in the development of mix-signal silicon IPs, memory compilers and cell libraries.
“Faraday's core competitiveness came from our ability to develop the state-of-art silicon IPs in the SoC era. This is particularly true when it comes to high speed transmission where speed and low power is crucial. Faraday's PCI-Express and Serial ATA and deep submicron cell libraries, memory compilers are just some of examples that Faraday is able to fulfill the needs of the market,” said Dr. George Hwang, Vice President of R&D and Marketing at Faraday Technology. “Recently, Faraday also introduced the concept of pre-defined, pre-verified, pre-manufactured Platform ASIC solution utilizing our proprietary ARM-certified embedded 32-bit RISC CPU and metal programmable cell array technology. The solution enables our customers to produce their desired end products in the deep submicron process with cost and time-to-production at a fraction of the equivalent standard ASICs. However, our commitment does not stop here. With the establishment of the new R&D center, we are able to work even more closely with our customers and provide the value-added service they need.”
“The advantage of having the R&D center in Taipei is that we are able to attract quality designers from a large pool of talents,” said H. P. Lin, Faraday President. “The new center signifies our commitment to our customers in that we will continue to innovate and work towards the goal of becoming one of the first tier IC service providers in the world.”
