AeroTSN-EP in Action: SOC-E Brings Live Aerospace TSN Demonstration to A&D TSN Summit 2026
Through a live demonstration featuring different aircraft systems, visitors will discover how Time-Sensitive Networking (TSN) capabilities can support robust and reliable communications in critical aerospace environments
October 15, 2026 -- SOC-E will showcase its new AeroTSN-EP IP Core at the Aerospace & Defence TSN Summit 2026, taking place from 20 to 23 October in Novi, Michigan. Through a live demonstration featuring different aircraft systems, visitors will discover how Time-Sensitive Networking (TSN) capabilities can support robust and reliable communications in critical aerospace environments.
AeroTSN-EP in Action: Bringing Aircraft Communications to Life
How can TSN technology address the demanding communication requirements of modern defence systems, including but not limited to land vehicle, aircraft and marine systems.
At the A&D TSN Summit 2026, SOC-E will bring this question to life through a demonstration designed to showcase the capabilities of AeroTSN-EP, its new TSN Endpoint IP Core currently under development (a prototype will be shown).
The demonstration recreates different elements of an aircraft, integrating flight control, propulsion, vision and warning systems into a network architecture connected through a TSN Digital Backbone powered by RelyUm family end equipment.
Visitors will see a physical aircraft wing model in action, with moving flaps and active lights, while different communication scenarios are presented to demonstrate the capabilities of the AeroTSN-EP IP Core.
At the heart of the demonstration, AeroTSN-EP IP Core enables several key TSN functionalities, including:
- Time synchronisation (IEEE802.1AS): synchronisation of TSN End Systems with a Grandmaster clock.
- Redundancy (IEEE802.1CB): supporting reliable communication through redundant network paths.
- Traffic shaping (IEEE802.1Qbv & IEEE8021Qav): both time aware and credit-based traffic shaping.
These capabilities address important requirements for robust communications in military applications, where multiple systems must exchange information reliably and with precise timing.
The demonstration provides an opportunity to observe the behaviour of an AeroTSN-EP prototype in a practical environment representing different aircraft functions.

Meet SOC-E at A&D TSN Summit 2026
From 20th – 23rd October 2026, SOC-E will participate in the Aerospace & Defence TSN Summitin Novi, Michigan, bringing its expertise in TSN, high-precision time synchronisation and reliable Ethernet networking.
SOC-E will also contribute with a presentation on 20th October titled:
Key challenges when combining a private 5G infrastructure with TSN-powered systems for Multi-Domain Combat Cloud (MDCC) networks.
As Multi-Domain Combat Cloud (MDCC) networks become a key enabler for future manned and unmanned warfare systems, Time-Sensitive Networking (TSN) plays a critical role in ensuring deterministic, low-latency, and reliable communications across distributed individual architectures. However, integrating heterogeneous platforms and high-bandwidth sensor data introduces major challenges in synchronization, scalability, cybersecurity, and traffic management. The integration of TSN and 5G aims to extend deterministic Ethernet communications over a wireless medium while preserving the stringent requirements of industrial applications
To achieve this, both time synchronization information and QoS characteristics must be translated between the TSN and 5G domains. This includes mapping TSN timing requirements, such as IEEE 802.1AS synchronization and scheduled traffic, as well as QoS-related parameters such as traffic priorities, latency constraints, reliability, and resource reservations, into their corresponding 5G mechanisms. The Device-Side TSN Translator (DS-TT) and Network-Side TSN Translator (NW-TT) play a fundamental role in this process, acting as bidirectional gateways that translate timing and QoS information between both technologies, enabling the 5G System to behave as a virtual TSN bridge within the industrial network.
This talk will provide a first glimpse into how future Multi-Domain Critical Communication (MDCC) Networks may evolve, combining private 5G infrastructures with TSN-enabled systems to deliver deterministic, resilient, and interoperable communications across multiple technological domains. It will then focus on the main challenges of integrating these technologies, as well as SOC-E’s latest research advances in this field, highlighting interoperability challenges and evolving FTTM mechanisms alongside IEEE 802.1CB redundancy for resilient multi-domain communications.
