Faraday Successfully Completes a Range of 0.13um ASIC Productions
Faraday's 0.13µm ASIC technologies address key design challenges in Networking and Consumer Electronics segments
SUNNYVALE, California, and HSINCHU, Taiwan – November 24, 2005 -- Faraday Technology Corporation (TAIEX: 3035) today announced three 0.13µm customer projects' wafer-out for volume production. Faraday 0.13µm ASIC and Structured ASIC technologies lead a practice that customers can implement chips in a shorter, more predictable design cycle while creating reusable value.
Faraday 0.13µm chips, with gate counts from 2 million to 5 million, are designed for a wide range of applications such as high-performance networking (450MHz), low-power mobile video, and portable PC peripherals. Faraday provides a comprehensive design solution from silicon-proven intellectual property (IPs) to complex system-on-chip designs based on its own mature and sophisticated technologies.
“We are very excited with the success of the wafer-outs”, said H. P. Lin, president of Faraday. “This is a milestone that marks Faraday's 0.13µm ASIC production success. I am very proud of the fact that we have been recognized by design houses that require very high quality and small die size, low power, high integration, and high performance features.”
“I am very pleased with Faraday's design team. Because of their help, we were able to produce a 3D video chip in a very short time,” said Mr. Shin, Yong-Su, general manager of VirtualDigm, a Korean IC design partner of Samsung Electronics for mobile game phone appliances. “Faraday played a significant role in the completion of our chip. I attributed our success to its proven capability in 0.13µm timing closure and system integration,” he added.
Ten other 0.13µm customer chips are currently being designed at Faraday and scheduled for volume production in the coming quarters.
