Arasan licenses CE-ATA Host Controller IP core to Centrality Communications
April 27, 2005 -- Arasan Chip Systems (Arasan) a leading provider of reusable Intellectual Property (IP's) cores announced today that Centrality Communications has licensed Arasan's CE-ATA Host Controller IP core. "We are excited to be using Arasan's IP because their worldwide support structure ensures cost effective support of our offices in Shanghai, Taipei and San Jose" says Philip Lau, Vice President of Centrality.
Arasan's CE-ATA Host Controller IP conforms to CE-ATA Digital Protocol revision 1.0, with support for CE-ATA Digital Protocol commands (CMD60 / CMD61). The CE-ATA interface allows for lower pin count, better power utilization, voltages tailored to battery-based applications, and more efficient command protocol.
Arasan's CE-ATA Host Controller also supports SD Memory Cards Ver 1.01, SDIO Cards Ver 1.10 and MMC 4.0 Cards. Prospective Customers can take confidence in knowing that the CE-ATA IP was derived from Arasan's Silicon Proven Standard SD/SDIO Host IP and MMC 4.0 Host IP. Arasans host licensees include tier 1 companies like Toshiba, LSI Logic, nVidia, ATI etc.
