Andes Technology’s D23-SE RISC-V Processor Achieves ISO 26262 ASIL‑B and ASIL‑D Certification for Functional Safety Applications
Hsinchu Taiwan – August 18, 2026 – Andes Technology, a leading supplier of high-efficiency, low-power RISC‑V processor IP solutions and Founding Premier member of RISC-V International, today announced that its AndesCore™ D23-SE processor has achieved ISO 26262 ASIL-B and ASIL-D certification with full compliance, further expanding the company’s portfolio of functional safety-certified RISC-V processors for automotive and industrial applications.
Built upon the production-proven D23 architecture, the 32-bit D23-SE processor is specifically engineered for safety-critical systems requiring deterministic performance, robust security mechanisms, and accelerated SoC compliance workflow. The processor has been developed in accordance with ISO 26262 requirements and as a Safety Element out of Context (SEooC), enabling customers to accelerate their development and certification of ASIL-compliant systems and shorten time-to-market.
The D23-SE integrates advanced safety mechanisms, including Dual-Core Lockstep (DCLS) with Lock-Split operations. In the Lock mode, the processor delivers the diagnostic coverage required for the most demanding safety applications up to ASIL-D. In the Split mode, the two cores can operate independently, providing increased flexibility and performance efficiency for ASIL-B applications and mixed-criticality workloads.
Beyond functional safety, the D23-SE incorporates the latest RISC-V ISA extensions, including bit-manipulation, code size reduction, and scalar cryptography instructions, delivering smaller code size and significantly accelerated execution of security algorithms such as AES, SM, and SHA. The processor also features ECC for memory and bus protection, and Enhanced Physical Memory Protection (ePMP) to establish a strong foundation for secure and dependable system design.
Explore Andes IP:
“The D23-SE demonstrates Andes’ continued commitment to advancing RISC-V into safety-critical markets,” said Dr. Charlie Su, President and CTO of Andes Technology. “By combining ASIL-B and ASIL-D certification with efficient performance, advanced safety mechanisms, and modern RISC-V extensions, D23‑SE enables our customers to develop next-generation automotive and industrial systems with greater confidence and faster certification cycles.”
“SGS has assessed the AndesCore™ D23-SE processor and confirmed its full compliance with the applicable requirements for ISO 26262 ASIL-B and ASIL-D certification for a CPU IP,” said Robert Chang, Deputy Director, SGS. “This certification provides customers with independently verified evidence that the D23-SE has been developed in accordance with recognized functional safety standards.”
The D23-SE joins Andes’ growing family of functional safety processors, including the N25F-SE, D25F-SE, and D45-SE, reinforcing Andes Technology’s leadership in delivering comprehensive, ISO 26262-compliant RISC-V processor solutions for the automotive industry.
