Amantys expands executive team to help target new markets and consolidate growth
Appoints former ARM and Frontier Silicon exec as VP of Marketing
Cambridge, UK, 7 November 2012 – Amantys Ltd, the intelligent power switch company, today announced the appointment of electronics industry business development expert Steve Evans to the Management Team, as Vice President of Marketing.
Impressed by Amantys’ rapid progress since its launch in 2010, Steve’s role is to focus the company’s product roadmap on key vertical target markets, developing sales channels and building its global organisation to address strategic customers within those sectors. Steve will also play a leading role in the commercial development of the gate drive product family.
With over 20 years’ experience leading commercial teams in the modules and semiconductor industry, Steve has successfully built new business throughout his career with companies such as Hitachi, ARM, and latterly Frontier Silicon, recently acquired by Toumaz Holdings.
Steve joins Amantys as the company is gaining increased recognition in the public domain, winning a British Engineering Excellence Award for 2012, being selected by EE Times as one of its Silicon 60 Hot Companies to Watch, as well as inclusion in the prestigious Global Cleantech100 for a second year running.
Commenting on this appointment, CEO Bryn Parry said “The addition of Steve to the Amantys team brings a strength and depth of knowledge of the industry which will help us to extend our partnerships with semiconductor and OEMs to capitalise on our early commercial successes. We’re looking forward to growing our presence in key vertical markets such as wind, medium voltage motor drives and traction and transmission.”
At ARM, Steve was Vice President of Segment Marketing, forming and leading the team responsible for driving the adoption of the ARM architecture into a wide range of market areas, including mobile, imaging, automotive and smartcards. Earlier in his career at ARM Steve headed the European Sales team who successfully worked with influential players in the European semiconductor industry to gain adoption of ARM in their products.
Speaking on his appointment, Steve said “Amantys is making great strides in the marketplace, working closely with IGBT suppliers and leading OEMs. As the level of engagement with end customers increases, we are building out our channels to market through both semiconductor device and distribution channel partners.
“I’m impressed with the speed with which Amantys has established its credentials with major OEMs and within the broader power industry as it builds on its first product launches. The vision of embedding intelligence and connectivity into best in class energy efficient power switches is the key to that market engagement. I’m looking forward to helping the team to build on its early successes.”
