Actel Appoints Dan McCranie to Board of Directors

- Actel Corporation (Nasdaq: ACTL) today announced the appointment of Dan McCranie to its board of directors. McCranie brings more than 35 years of sales and marketing experience in the semiconductor and communications industries to his new role on Actel's board of directors. McCranie currently serves as chairman of the board for several semiconductor manufacturers, including ON Semiconductor, Xicor and Virage Logic.

"Dan's three decades of sales and marketing experience and impeccable reputation within the semiconductor industry make him a wonderful addition to the Actel board of directors," said John East, president and CEO of Actel. "Dan will complement well the other members of our board of directors and quickly contribute to Actel's overall success."

McCranie worked most recently as the vice president of sales and marketing for Cypress Semiconductor. Prior to that, McCranie was the chairman, CEO and president of SEEQ Technology, a supplier of mixed-signal data communications products. Leading up to his tenure at SEEQ, McCranie held positions of increasing responsibility in management, engineering, and sales and marketing at Harris Corporation, Advanced Micro Devices, American Microsystems and Philips Corporation. McCranie holds a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Virginia Polytechnic University.
