Quintauris and Nuclei Cooperate to Ensure Automotive Real-Time RISC-V Readiness with RT-Europa
The two organizations join forces to align Nuclei’s automotive-grade RISC-V processor portfolio with Quintauris’ RT-Europa platform specification, preparing the ecosystem for production deployment.
Munich, Germany / Grenoble, France – June 16, 2026 – Quintauris, the global provider of RISC-V-based products founded by Bosch, Infineon, Nordic Semiconductor, NXP, Qualcomm, and STMicroelectronics, and Nuclei System Technology, a leading provider of commercial RISC-V processor IP, today announced a cooperation to align Nuclei’s automotive-grade RISC-V processor portfolio with Quintauris’ RT-Europa platform specification, ensuring readiness for production deployment as the automotive industry’s adoption of RISC-V accelerates.
The question facing the automotive industry is no longer whether RISC-V is mature enough for production. Virtualization, trusted execution, safety certification, and commercial deployment have all advanced to the point where adoption is a matter of timing, not capability. What remains is a product deployment and ecosystem integration challenge: how to transition existing platforms and software stacks to RISC-V while preserving the performance, security, and product differentiation on which automotive businesses depend. RT-Europa, released by Quintauris in early 2026, addresses this challenge directly by establishing the first comprehensive platform specification purpose-built for automotive real-time RISC-V processors, defining requirements across deterministic memory access, interrupt handling, privilege modes, physical memory protection, debug interfaces, and SoC integration.
Through this cooperation, both organizations are working to ensure that when automotive SoC designers are ready to commit to RISC-V real-time platforms, the silicon-proven hardware foundation and the industry reference platform are already aligned. With RT-Europa establishing a vendor-neutral architectural target and Nuclei’s production-proven processor portfolio, this cooperation represents a concrete step toward the ecosystem convergence the automotive industry needs.
“RT-Europa provides the automotive industry with a stable, vendor-neutral foundation for real-time RISC-V processors. Nuclei’s commitment to working with us on aligning their automotive processor portfolio with our platform specification demonstrates the kind of ecosystem engagement that will accelerate the industry’s transition to RISC-V. Together, we are building the confidence OEMs and Tier-1s need to move from evaluation to production.” — Pedro Lopez, Market Strategy Officer, Quintauris
A Complete Automotive RISC-V Portfolio Aligned with Industry Standards
As the RISC-V ecosystem matures, the focus is shifting from architecture to enablement. Organizations need more than processor IP alone. RT-Europa addresses the platform side of this equation, going beyond ISA profiles to define the complete real-time environment for automotive applications, covering memory architecture, interrupt handling, privilege modes, physical memory protection, debug interfaces, and SoC integration guidelines. The specification gives IP vendors and automotive OEMs a clear, stable target for ensuring processor readiness across product generations.
Nuclei brings a comprehensive portfolio of automotive-grade RISC-V processor IP to this cooperation:
- NA300: A compact real-time core for safety islands and low-power control tasks.
- NA900: A high-performance real-time processor widely adopted by the automotive industry.
- NA1000: The recently introduced processor addressing the next generation of automotive compute requirements.
Nuclei’s NA series holds the distinction of being the first RISC-V processor IP to achieve ISO 26262 ASIL-D functional safety certification and demonstrates production-ready maturity, with several billion Nuclei-based chips shipped across automotive, industrial, and consumer markets.
The cooperation will focus on ensuring alignment between this full automotive portfolio and RT-Europa’s requirements for deterministic execution, safety isolation, and cross-vendor interoperability, so that when automotive SoC designers are ready to commit to RISC-V real-time platforms, the hardware and software foundations are already in place.
“Nuclei has always believed that the path to widespread RISC-V adoption in automotive runs through robust standards and ecosystem collaboration. We welcome Quintauris’ initiative with RT-Europa as an important contribution to this effort. Our NA300, NA900, and NA1000 processors are already trusted by automotive customers worldwide, and working with Quintauris to align our portfolio with this platform specification is a natural step: our customers need confidence that the processing IP they select today will integrate smoothly into the reference platforms the industry converges on.”
