proteanTecs Appoints Head of Cadence Japan Toshifumi Kaneko to Advisory Board

Mr. Kaneko, a 40-Year Veteran of Japan's Semiconductor Industry, Brings Deep Market Expertise to Support proteanTecs' Growth in the Era of Agentic and Physical AI

HAIFA, Israel – November 5, 2026 – proteanTecs®, the leading provider of health and performance monitoring solutions for advanced electronics, today announced that Mr. Toshifumi Kaneko has joined its Advisory Board. A veteran of the semiconductor industry, Mr. Kaneko will provide strategic guidance as proteanTecs expands its presence in Japan and advances its solutions in support of high-compute, autonomous, AI-driven systems.

Mr. Kaneko currently serves as Head of Cadence Design Systems (BV), Japan, a role he has held since 2017, having served as Corporate Vice President since 2005. In this position, he oversees all of Cadence's domestic operations in Japan, including sales, technical support, and the company's IP and system design and analysis businesses. Earlier in his career, he held account sales and product marketing roles for the ASIC design center at Fairchild Semiconductor Japan and served as managing director of Innotech Corporation's Design System business until 2003. He holds a Bachelor of Law from Hosei University.

Throughout his career, Mr. Kaneko has been an active advocate for investment in Japan's domestic semiconductor ecosystem, promoting the adoption of cutting-edge process technology in support of the country's broader strategy to reclaim global semiconductor manufacturing leadership, and collaborating closely with key domestic industry initiatives.

"Japan's semiconductor industry is at a pivotal moment, with renewed national focus on rebuilding manufacturing leadership and driving innovation across the ecosystem,” said Toshifumi Kaneko. “proteanTecs' deep data approach to visibility, from chip to system to field, is exactly the kind of technology this next generation of designs will need. I look forward to supporting the company's growth and contributing to its mission as the industry advances toward smarter, mega-functional systems."

"As we enter the era of Agentic and Physical AI, the devices powering it are becoming exponentially more complex, built on advanced nodes and novel manufacturing and packaging techniques that push closer to the limits of physics,” said Shai Cohen, co-founder and CEO of proteanTecs. “Mr. Kaneko’s breadth and depth of experience across the semiconductor landscape, combined with his deep relationships and standing in the local ecosystem, make him an invaluable addition to our Advisory Board as we help the industry navigate these dynamics and scale."

Building on a strong customer base, the opening of its Japan office last year, the appointment of Noritaka Kojima as General Manager of Japan and its recently announced collaboration with MegaChips, proteanTecs is gaining momentum in one of the world’s most important semiconductor and automotive markets. With world class Japan-based investors Advantest and Toppan Group’s Venture Arm, the company is well positioned to accelerate its growth and deepen its strategic presence in the region.

The addition of Mr. Kaneko to the Advisory Board will help deepen engagement with Japanese enterprises through co-development, proof-of-concept initiatives and mass-production support. By applying on-chip monitoring, real-time actuation, and telemetry-based analytics across manufacturing, operation and service, proteanTecs helps customers improve power efficiency, quality, reliability and system-level visibility, particularly as AI, data center, and automotive applications place greater demands on silicon performance and safety throughout the product lifecycle.

Mr. Kaneko joins proteanTecs' expanding Advisory Board which includes industry experts from AI, Data Center, Automotive, and Telecom sectors, reflecting the breadth of industries relying on the company's technology as they scale.
