Intrinsic-ID launches operation in Japan and hires industry veteran
Growing trend to deploy Hardware Intrinsic Security fuels sales and marketing momentum
Eindhoven, The Netherlands – 30 November, 2011 - Intrinsic-ID announces the launch of its Japan operation and has hired industry veteran Kazuhisa Okamura-san to set up the sales operation for Intrinsic-ID in Japan.
Okamura-san (‘Kaz’) brings 27 years of sales experience in the semiconductor, imaging/audio technology, processor, and IP business. He joined Intel Japan in 1985 and managed top accounts such as NEC, Fujitsu, and Toshiba as senior sales director for 14 years.
After that, he developed successful businesses for NuCore Technology and Sonaptic in Japan.
Prior to joining Intrinsic-ID, Okamura-san worked as Director Japan at Silicon Hive, where he successfully developed the Japanese market by building strategic relationships with leading electronic companies.
“We are very pleased to have Kaz join our team and help us to further grow our business in Japan. So far we have supported customers in Japan from our headquarters in Eindhoven and San Jose office, but due to the fast increasing deployment of our technology we plan to build a strong local team in Japan”, said Pim Tuyls, CEO Intrinsic-ID.
“Intrinsic-ID offers superior security solutions for a number of compelling applications running on connected devices and systems in the mobile world. Many leading Japanese companies active in this field aim to utilize Hardware Intrinsic Security (HIS) as developed and patented by Intrinsic-ID in their next generation devices”, said Okamura-san. “Intrinsic-ID is building a strong business in Japan, and its ecosystem, the HIS Initiative, is quickly expanding.”
"The demands for encryption technology become more and more important for Consumer devices as well as for Industrial and Automotive devices due to their increasing connectivity to a network. To address these challenges, we believe cipher key generation and true random number generation using Physically Unclonable Function is very important technology. We advance our deployment of these technologies and further endorse HIS by our active participation as member of the HIS Initiative”, said Masayuki Hirokawa, Department Manager, Renesas Electronics Corporation.
About Intrinsic-ID
Intrinsic-ID is recognized as a worldwide leader in security solutions, delivering semiconductor IP and embedded software products based on Hardware Intrinsic Security.
Our solutions revolve around patented Physically Unclonable Function (PUF) technology, where a secret key is extracted like a silicon biometric or fingerprint from silicon hardware directly and only when required.
Attackers have nothing to find because no key is stored nor present in the power down state.
We leverage our security expertise and product offering in several markets and applications, ranging from SmartCards, Automotive, Set-Top Box and Pay-TV applications, Networking & Comms, Mobile, as well as Government and Military applications.
Intrinsic-ID’s security solutions excel by their ease-of-integration in a standard manufacturing flow, their scalability and small area and/or SW footprint which enables mass-scale deployment in cost-sensitive consumer applications.
Intrinsic-ID was founded in 2008 as a spin-out of Royal Philips Electronics and is headquartered in Eindhoven, The Netherlands. Its technology and products leverage many years of industrial development at Philips and have received public endorsement by many leading electronic companies world-wide.
