Chartered Appoints New Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales and Marketing
-- Chartered Semiconductor Manufacturing (Nasdaq:CHRT) (SGX-ST:Chartered), one of the world’s top dedicated foundries, today announced Ian Chapman-Banks has joined the company as senior vice president of worldwide sales and marketing, effective immediately.
Chapman-Banks brings more than 20 years of experience in management, sales, marketing and business development to Chartered. Most recently, he served as corporate vice president/general manager, Motorola Mobile Devices Asia Pacific, leading its sales, customer support, strategy and go-to-market operations. At Chartered, Chapman-Banks will be responsible for the company’s global sales and marketing activities, strategic and business development, and customer support. He reports directly to Chia Song Hwee, president & CEO.
“Ian has a proven track record in delivering sales results, building brands, and leading business strategy and product management at some of the world’s foremost electronics companies,” said Chia. “Ian brings to Chartered an end-user perspective, especially in the consumer electronics space, that will be very useful in shaping our business strategies and product solutions moving forward to be in tune with end-market needs.”
Prior to his position at Motorola, Chapman-Banks held positions at Microsoft’s Home and Entertainment Division, Apple, Xerox, and Astra Zeneca Pharmaceuticals & Aventis. Chapman-Banks has lived and worked in Asia for more than 12 years. He holds a bachelor of science degree in applied chemistry from Sheffield Hallam University, England, and an MBA from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business, USA.
