Rochester Electronics Provides Continuous Support of Altera's FPGAs
Extension-of-life™ process supports critical military and aerospace semiconductors
August 11, 2010 -- Rochester Electronics has been selected as an authorized distributor of Altera Corporation’s legacy and end-of-life (EOL) field programmable gate array (FPGA) devices. Rochester has acquired finished devices as well as wafer/die, intellectual property, test programs, and test equipment from Altera to extend the long-term availability of many mission-critical Altera semiconductor devices. These devices include the EP1810, EP610, and EP910 product families which are used in military, aerospace, and industrial applications.
Through its Extension-of-LifeTM process, Rochester provides a continuous supply of reliable, authentic FPGA semiconductor devices for customers with requirements that extend beyond Altera’s production life cycle. The EP1810, EP610, and EP910 products delivered by Rochester have the exact fit, form, and function as the original Altera-manufactured parts. In addition, Rochester’s long-term supply programs, such as its Special Product AgreementTM (SPATM), provide tailored, customized, comprehensive, scheduled, managed, and guaranteed long-term distribution of semiconductor devices.
