Mobiveil Announces Fully Compliant RapidIO 10xN (Gen 3) Digital Controller IP Supporting Multi-Channel DMA, Data Message and Data Streaming at 40Gbps
Milpitas, CA—December 16, 2014—Mobiveil, Inc. a fast growing supplier of silicon intellectual property (SIP), platforms and IP-enabled design services, today announced a fully compliant RapidIO 10xN (Gen 3) Digital controller IP supporting multi-channel DMA, data message and data streaming at 40Gbps. Besides supporting ASIC and standard cell design flows for designers building wireless network infrastructure and aerospace solutions, where RapidIO has long been the interface of choice, Mobiveil will be targeting ARM® based server and heterogeneous compute (HPC) platforms with this release.
“We have been a staunch supporter of the RapidIO interface and have delivered several generations of RapidIO IP to customers worldwide,” said Ravi Thummarukudy, CEO of Mobiveil, Inc. “Our RapidIO 10xN controller technology optimizes link utilization, latency, reliability, power consumption and silicon footprint to best serve server, wireless infrastructure and aerospace design requirements. In addition to the Generic RapidIO controller (GRIO) we also provide a sophisticated AXI bridge (RAB) for easy integration into customers’ SOC.”
Mobiveil's RapidIO Controller is part of its High Speed Serial Interconnect family of IP solutions that also includes Gen4 PCI Express, NVM Express, 10G/1G Ethernet MACs, PCI Express Bridge and Switch solutions. Mobiveil IP offers the most feature-rich, power-efficient, highly interoperable and silicon-proven solutions for different form factors providing the optimum balance between power and performance. RapidIO also supports interoperability with standard multiprocessing APIs such as RDMA, MPI, and MCAPI. The RapidIO 10xN specification also includes support for high availability and fault tolerant extensions for aerospace applications.
"We are extremely pleased with Mobiveil’s contributions to the RapidIO community by providing proven RapidIO-based controllers for all versions of the standard including 10xN," says Rick O’Connor, Executive Director at RapidIO.org. He added, "We are very excited about the adoption of RapidIO 10xN in its traditional markets and look forward to the technology being adopted in the emerging ARM-based server market with the work of our 64-bit coherent scale out task group positioning RapidIO as a unified fabric for data center analytics and high performance computing. Mobiveil is playing an important role in the RapidIO ecosystem by making available a proven 10xN solution for faster market adoption.”
Mobiveil's RapidIO IP is available with a native flexible bus interface and also supports a scalable AXI bus interface to support direct connectivity with integrated ARM CPU cores. The Mobiveil RapidIO core is feature rich with full support for load-store operations, DMA operations, Type 9 Data streaming, Mailbox, CRF, and Flow control capabilities.
