Arteris Makes Big Gains on Inc. 500 List of America's Fastest-Growing Private Companies
Network-on-chip semiconductor IP pioneer achieves three-year 1002% sales growth through technology innovation
SUNNYVALE, California -- August 20, 2013 -- Arteris Inc., the inventor and leading supplier of network-on-chip (NoC) interconnect IP solutions, today announced that Inc. magazine ranked the company 462 on its 31th annual Inc. 500, an exclusive ranking of the nation's fastest-growing private companies.
The semiconductor design IP innovator jumped 34 rungs on the list, reflecting its market leadership in the rapidly growing interconnect IP market. Currently, over 60 percent of the market-leading mobile application processors and LTE modems – and four out of five top Chinese fabless semiconductor OEMS - leverage Arteris technology. For the second year in a row, Arteris joined other notable technology companies including Microsoft, Intuit, Zipcar, Vizio, and Oracle. The list represents the most comprehensive look at this critical segment of the economy—America’s independent entrepreneurs.
“Not all the companies in the Inc. 500 | 5000 are in glamorous industries, but in their fields they are as famous as household name companies simply by virtue of being great at what they do. They are the hidden champions of job growth and innovation, the real muscle of the American economy,” says Inc. magazine Editor Eric Schurenberg.
“Arteris chalked up a phenomenal year in 2012, inking deals with several key customers and seeing our technology deployed in numerous market leading smartphone and tablet mobile devices,” said K. Charles Janac, President and CEO of Arteris. “We are very excited to increase our ranking on the Inc. 500 list. Since our founding in 2003, Arteris has charted its own path by continually delivering unique network-on-chip interconnect IP solutions to the market. Customers such as ARM, Samsung, and Qualcomm continue to prove that our FlexNoC IP not only saves money, but helps them earn more revenue from their SoCs.”

Methodology
The 2013 Inc. 500|5000 is ranked according to percentage revenue growth when comparing 2009 to 2012. To qualify, companies must have been founded and generating revenue by March 31, 2009. They had to be U.S.-based, privately held, for profit, and independent—not subsidiaries or divisions of other companies—as of December 31, 2012. (Since then, a number of companies on the list have gone public or been acquired.) The minimum revenue required for 2009 is $100,000; the minimum for 2012 is $2 million. As always, Inc. reserves the right to decline applicants for subjective reasons. Companies on the Inc. 500 are featured in Inc.’s September issue. They represent the top tier of the Inc. 5000, which can be found at www.inc.com/500.
