Condor Introduces QVME-1553 A VME Solution for MIL-STD-1553 Applications
Santa Barbara, CA – June 25, 2002 Condor Engineering is pleased to announce the release of its newest multi-function VME card for MIL-STD-1553A/B: Model Number QVME-1553. This board is Condor's latest addition to its quad-channel 1553 product line.
The QVME-1553 provides up to four MIL-STD-1553 dual redundant channels on a VME platform making it ideal for test, simulation and vehicle applications. With greatly reduced part count, the QVME offers higher MTBF (Mean Time Between Failure) than its predecessor, making it ideal for embedded systems applications. Other new features include optional variable voltage and rear I/O support. In addition, this board now offers LynxOS drivers along with its vast API support.
Standard operating features include selectable transformer or direct coupling, 1 Mbyte of RAM per channel, 45-bit message time-tagging, avionics-level discretes, 1760 start-up-time compliance, triggers, extensive BC & RT link-list structures, error detection/injection, advanced BC functionality, RT Map Monitoring, automatic/manual RT Status Bit and Mode Code responses plus IRIG/GPS synchronization capabilities. The QVME-1553 is available in commercial temperature, ruggedized conductive-cooling or ruggedized industrial temperature versions.
On multi-function boards, each 1553 channel provides simultaneous Bus Controller (BC), 31 Remote Terminal (RT), and Bus Monitoring (BM) functionality. Single-function boards provide BC, 31RTs or BM. One, two or four channel boards are available and an IRIG B Receiver/Generator is optional.
Included with the QVME-1553 is Condor's easy-to-use, high-level API which can significantly reduce application development time. Full API support is provided for VxWorks, LynxOS v4.0, Windows XP, 2000, Me, NT, 98 and 95. LabVIEW, Linux and Solaris support is available. To access 1553 functionality without software development, the optionally available BusTools/1553 GUI is ideal for MIL-STD-1553 bus analysis, simulation and data logging/monitoring.
