Cascade IP licenses its PCI Express Design IP to Sun Microsystems

INTEL DEVELOPERS FORUM, SAN FRANCISCO, Calif., Sept. 7, 2004 - Cascade IP (Cascade Semiconductor Solutions), the leading provider of intellectual property (IP) for PCI Express designs, today announced that it has licensed its CascadeXpressTM Design IP to Sun Microsystems® Inc.

“Based on Sun's internal evaluation effort, the Cascade solution was found to be modular, easily configurable with support for Root Complex and End Point implementation,” said Shrenik Mehta, Director of Front-end Technologies at Sun. “Using CascadeXpress, we expect that our designs will be fully compliant with the PCI Express standard and interoperable with other PCI Express implementations.”
