APT Strengthens Licensing Business Development Division
Belfast -- October 3, 2007 -- Audio compression specialist APT today announced the appointment of Mike Canevaro as Vice President, Licensing Business Development.
Based in California, Canevaro will be responsible for driving forward and implementing the APT Licensing Business Strategy within the Consumer Electronics, Mobile and Broadcast industries and is set to significantly strengthen APT’s position in the IP Licensing markets.
The appointment reflects APT’s commitment to working with Mobile Phone Manufacturers, Semiconductor Partners and major consumer electronic brands to unleash professional audio technologies for consumer markets.
Canevaro said, ‘APT is perfectly positioned to take advantage of the increasing demand for low time delay and robust algorithms in the Consumer and Broadcast markets. I have joined the company at a hugely exciting time and am looking forward to continuing to build on APT’s success in the coming years.’
Canevaro brings a wealth of experience to the APT Licensing Division having previously spent 6 years with SRS labs where he held a variety of roles, most recently overseeing the SRS Mobile Phone licensing strategy as Senior Director of Business Development. While at SRS Labs, Mike also served as Director of Sales of the SRS Professional Audio Group and Director of Strategic Development, Surround Technologies, working alongside broadcast industry bodies, major radio and television broadcasters, film studios and major record labels. Prior to joining SRS Labs, Mike held various management positions with Time Warner, AOL Time Warner and CMGi where he focused on the convergence of technology and entertainment.
APT’s Licensing Business Manager Stephen Wray said, ‘We are delighted to have Mike join APT at this important juncture in our IP portfolio development. APT has invested in significant intellectual capital over the past 2 years resulting in a number of innovative, patent-pending, algorithmic developments. These developments position APT as a leading solutions provider in the fields of wireless personal audio, HD Audio for Video and Digital Wireless Audio for Live Performance.”
Wray continues, “ Mike’s knowledge, skills and experience in both IP licensing and consumer, mobile and professional markets means he is ideally suited to represent the APT IP offering with the appropriate organisations and thought leaders throughout the industry.”
