SAN JOSE, Calif. — FPGA vendor Altera Corp. issued a warning Thursday (Sept. 2) that its third-quarter revenue will be equal to the previous quarter's revenue of $269 million. Altera had previously projected it would post revenue between $274 million to $280 million for Q3, and analysts had expected Altera to post revenue of $276 million for the quarter.
A brief two paragraph warning buried on the company's Web site did not offer an explanation as to why the company will fall short of expectations for the quarter. Altera declined to comment.
The company is expected to announce its third-quarter earnings on Oct. 4.
