Mixel Supports Automotive SerDes Alliance (ASA) Motion Link SerDes IP

Mixel is the industry’s first pure play silicon IP provider to support ASA-ML SerDes

SAN JOSE, Calif.-- July 23, 2025 --Mixel^®, Inc. (Mixel), a leading provider of mixed-signal intellectual property (IP), announced today its support for Automotive SerDes Alliance Motion Link (ASA-ML) SerDes IP compliant with the ASA Motion Link v2.1 specification. Mixel is the industry’s first pure play silicon IP provider to announce its support for ASA-ML SerDes IP. Mixel has been a member of the Automotive SerDes Alliance (ASA) since December 2019.

With the growing adoption of advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) and in-vehicle infotainment (IVI), including in-cabin digital cockpits for software-defined vehicles (SDV), there is increasing demand for asymmetric camera and display networks with high downstream and lower upstream bandwidth. Historically, automakers have been limited to proprietary, single-sourced asymmetric links or non-standardized solutions. The Automotive SerDes Alliance was formed to standardize SerDes connectivity for automotive applications. ASA is a non-profit industry alliance of automotive industry and technology providers collaborating to provide the specifications and infrastructure needed for the automotive industry.

The Mixel ASA-ML PHY IP supports version 2.1 of the Automotive SerDes Alliance Motion Link specification. This IP supports transmitting (TX) and receiving (RX) downstream speeds of up to 8.0Gbps/lane with NRZ signaling (Speed Grade 3). The Mixel PHY supports comprehensive equalization features for dealing with different channels, environmental conditions, and data rates. Furthermore, this IP implements extensive DFT testability features for mass production and system test for link robustness.
