Scanimetrics Now Offering MOSAID HLNAND Flash Memory Chip and Module
OTTAWA, ONTARIO--May 12, 2010 -- MOSAID Technologies Inc. (TSX:MSD) and Scanimetrics Inc., an electronics products and solutions provider, today announced that Scanimetrics is integrating MOSAID's HyperLink NAND (HLNAND(TM)) Flash Memory chip and module into its customized product solutions.
MOSAID has granted Scanimetrics a non-exclusive, royalty bearing license to develop, manufacture and market current and future versions of MOSAID HLNAND(TM) devices, alone or incorporated into Scanimetrics products. MOSAID offers a 64Gb MLC (Multi Level Cell) HLNAND MCP (Multi-Chip Package), and a 64GB HLDIMM (HyperLink Dual In-Line Memory Module).
"MOSAID's HLNAND(TM) Flash memory technology provides us with a solution to address our customers' growing needs for higher-speed write capability in Storage Class Memory applications," said Steven Slupsky, CEO of Scanimetrics. "We will utilize HLNAND Flash memory chips and modules in designs where there is a requirement for high-performance memory and low power, such as enterprise-class video conferencing, as well as digital still and motion cameras."
Storage Class Memory (SCM) strives to deliver the low-cost, non-volatile bit storage that is offered by hard disk drives, while greatly improving access times.
"Scanimetrics recognizes that our HLNAND(TM) architecture delivers the industry's most advanced capabilities, with high performance and low cost, to a range of mass storage applications," said Jin-Ki Kim, Vice President of R&D, MOSAID. "HLNAND(TM) is the first Flash memory interface technology to use a high-performance, point-to-point ring topology that is scalable to large memory configurations without bandwidth degradation."
Availability
Licenses for manufacturing production quantities of HLNAND(TM) devices are available to semiconductor suppliers, packaging and module suppliers, product manufacturers and system integrators.
