Lantiq Successfully Closes Acquisition of Home Networking and DSL Assets and Intellectual Property from Aware
Neubiberg, Germany and Milpitas, California – November 16, 2009 – Lantiq today announced the successful closing of the acquisition of Home Networking and DSL related assets and intellectual property (IP) from Massachusetts based Aware Inc.
The deal includes the establishment of a technical competence center in Bedford MA, where a team of more than forty engineers from Aware has joined Lantiq, and will continue to drive innovation in the emerging home networking market.
“The experienced engineering team and the acquired IP expands Lantiq’s technology base and will enable us to offer our customers an even stronger portfolio of Home Networking solutions”, said Christian Wolff, CEO of Lantiq.
Lantiq started full operation only a week ago, on November 6th. Even before becoming a stand-alone company, Lantiq has announced the Acquisition of Home Networking and DSL Assets and Intellectual Property from Aware. The transaction has now been closed, after less than four weeks.
Lantiq is a leader in the Access Network and CPE (Customer Premise Equipment) markets and through this acquisition it will broaden its presence in the digital home.
