Actel Drives Low-Power Programmable Solutions into Asia Pacific with Extended Sales Network
Company Announces New Distributors in Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Vietnam, Australia, and New Zealand
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. -- July 30, 2007 -- In an aggressive move to extend the reach of its low-power, flash-based programmable technologies and expand the company's geographic footprint, Actel Corporation today announced the expansion of its Asia Pacific sales network with the addition of Advinno Technologies Pte and Mouser Electronics Pte as new distributors and value-added resellers (VARs). The company also announced that its Indian distributor, Tecnomics, will now also include responsibility for Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines and Vietnam, complementing established distributors already operating in these regions. Simultaneously, Caelera has been appointed by Actel to boost sales of Actel's IGLOO low-power field-programmable gate array (FPGA) family in Australia and New Zealand.
Consumer, portable, automotive and communications applications continue to tighten budgets for power, space and cost. Actel's industry-leading, flash-based FPGAs and Programmable System Chips (PSCs) are attractive alternatives for designers due to several advantages they offer, including low power, single-chip, security, firm error immunity and total system cost.
"As the drive for domestic innovation intensifies in the Asia-Pacific region, particularly in consumer, telecommunications and industrial applications, design engineers demand immediate access to industry-leading low-power products, like the ultra low-power Actel IGLOO FPGAs or mixed-signal Actel Fusion PSCs," said Rick Lain, area sales director, Asia Pacific region at Actel. "The expansion and strengthening of Actel's Asia-Pacific sales network enables us to serve our quickly growing list of customers who value the power, space and cost advantages we offer.”
