Overview

The IGADACT08A is a general-purpose two-channel digital-to-analog converter with 10-bit resolution. The IGADACT08A contains two serializers, two digital decoders, and 2-channel current steering DAC circuits. The serializer converts 16 10-bit data words at 150MHz sampling rate into one 10-bit word at 2.4GHz rate. The input digital code is unsigned binary. The best timing is achieved when divide-by-16 input clock is to synchronize the incoming 16 10-bit data.

Key features

  • 10-bit resolution
  • Up to 2.4GHz conversion rate
  • A serializer converts 16 10-bit sampling data words at 150MHz into one 10-bit word at 2.4GHz
  • 0 ~ 0.3V compliance range
  • Operation temperature range: -40°C~125°C
  • DNL < +/- 1.5LSB, INL < +/- 2.5LSB
  • Adjustable full scale current
  • Power down mode is available

Specifying a PLL Part 1: Calculating PLL Clock Spur Requirements from ADC or DAC SFDR

In high end RF systems, such as 5G radios, the requirements are so stringent that the source of this strongest unwanted tone can be the PLL. This article outlines how spurs in the input clock to the ADC or DAC may limit the SFDR. This in turn will set the requirements for the spurs for the input clock (from a PLL), in order to achieve a specific SFDR.
