TAKUMI Launches GV200, The Smallest Vector Graphics IP Core
December 1, 2010, Tokyo – TAKUMI Corporation announced today official release of the new GSHARK-TAKUMI GV200 Vector Graphics Accelerator IP Core focused on embedded devices use.
GV200 is a scale down version of the high performance GV300/330, smallest in class TAKUMI vector graphics accelerators. Gate count is reduced by half without sacrificing* key benefits of vector graphics applications including high-grade scalable font, map and image rendering as well as image filtration. GV200 also inherited base architecture from GV300/330 to enable full hardware rendering including “CPU-hogging” tessellation to effectively reduce CPU load.
“Diversified requirements for different products come from embedded system customers. TAKUMI has developed GV200 to solve unmet needs in these customers who wish to enable high grade vector graphics with lowest possible power consumption and cost by minimizing GPU footprint on an LSI. TAKUMI is continuously committed to enhancing the lineup to meet diversified customer needs with the GSHARK-TAKUMI family architecture easily customizable for optimized size, performance and functionalities”, says Hiroyuki Nitta, Executive Director and Head of R&D.
About TAKUMI:
Founded in 2003, TAKUMI licenses out its unique and OpenGL- and OpenVG-compliant Graphics Accelerator IP cores for embedded systems and mobile information devices including digital still/video cameras, mobile phones and set-top boxes that enable the smallest size and power consumption as well as real rich 2D/3D intuitive user interface around the world. The company maintains headquarters in Shiba, Tokyo. TAKUMI also has offices in Amagasaki, Hyogo and Kofu, Yamanashi.
* Certain rendering functions and color formats have been eliminated in GV200. Please contact us for the specification details.
