Skyviia Selects Tuxera NTFS for Multimedia Chipsets
Breakthrough NTFS Read and Write Performance for DTVs and Set-Top Boxes
HELSINKI, FINLAND – February 15, 2011 — Tuxera Inc., the leading provider of Windows and Mac compatible file systems for Linux, Android and other platforms, announced today that Taiwan-based Skyviia Corporation has selected its high-performance Tuxera NTFS interoperable file system solution. Starting from Skyviia SV8860, Tuxera NTFS is integrated into Skyviia’s multimedia System-on-a-Chip (Soc) solutions that power for example DTVs, set-top boxes and digital photo frames.
Tuxera NTFS brings Skyviia chipsets seamless cross-platform interoperability. Now OEMs and brand manufacturers can design devices that can record, time-shift, and playback several full-HD 1080p video streams in portable NTFS format at the same time. Consumers can attach external Windows-formatted storages to the devices to extend recording and backup capabilities. Same portable storages can be used with PCs and other NTFS-compatible devices.
“With Tuxera NTFS inside, Skyviia SV8860 offers a very competitive turnkey solution for connected multimedia deployments. It has been a pleasure to start working with Skyviia with whom we share a common technology and market vision. There is no doubt Skyviia belongs to the most innovative chipset companies in the world with a bright future ahead,” said Mikko Välimäki, Tuxera CEO.
“High-performance NTFS has become a must-have functionality in any kind of connected multimedia devices. We chose the market-leading Tuxera NTFS solution for its know reliability and Tuxera’s chipset performance acceleration expertise that has brought the best out of our silicon. I firmly believe that bundling Tuxera NTFS with Skyviaa’s latest SoC solutions helps us to close new major accounts together,” noted Brian Sung, Skyviaa VP of Engineering.
