Mentor Graphics and MoreThanIP Collaborate to Deliver Veloce Emulation Solutions for Multi-Gigabit Ethernet Verification
WILSONVILLE, Ore. -- Oct 24, 2011 -- Mentor Graphics Corp., a leader in advanced system verification solutions, and MoreThanIP, the market leader in delivery of IP products for high-speed communications, serial backplanes, and embedded system technologies, today announced they have collaborated to deliver emulation solutions for the verification of Multi-Gigabit Ethernet Systems-on-Chips (SoCs).
The combination of the Mentor(R) Veloce(R) hardware emulation technology and the iSolve(TM) application solutions with MoreThanIP's best-in-class Ethernet 40G/100G MAC / PCS IP Cores, delivers a high-performance and productive environment for handling the verification of up to hundreds of Ethernet ports associated with switch and router SoCs. The goal of both companies is to help bring complex telecom SoC designs to market on schedule, without compromising verification accuracy or performance.
MoreThanIP is recognized as a team of industry experts in the delivery of IP cores for multi-Gigabit-speed telecom applications, which are specifically designed to achieve a high level of re-usability to dramatically reduce the development time of complex SoCs.
"As the leader in the development and delivery of Multi-Gigabit Ethernet MAC IP for advanced telecom applications, MoreThanIP is committed to providing the best possible verification solutions for our customers. By combining with Mentor and their Ethernet switch solutions for emulation, customers benefit from a high-speed platform that enables them to perform hardware verification of their telecom chips many weeks or months before they are committed to real silicon, increasing their verification productivity and improving their time-to-market," said Daniel Koehler, CTO, MoreThanIP. "We are excited that our collaboration with Mentor will yield significant productivity boosts for our customers who design and develop 10, 40, 100 and next generation 400 Gigabit Ethernet switches and routers with complex system features such as IEEE 1588 and EEE (Energy Efficient Ethernet) with full KR (IEEE802.3ap Ethernet Backplane) support."
The Veloce product is one of the industry's fastest dual-mode accelerator/emulators, providing MHz performance for both transaction-based verification and traditional in-circuit emulation (ICE). With an extensive portfolio of iSolve vertical market solutions, the Veloce product is the platform of choice for networking, wireless, multimedia, storage, and embedded systems applications.
"We worked closely with MoreThanIP to implement this high-performance solution for Multi-Gigabit Ethernet applications, and to extend our ability to deliver the industry's premier emulation solutions for networking applications," said Richard Pugh, Mentor Emulation Division product marketing manager. "Our combined industry-leading technologies deliver reliable and easy-to-use Ethernet verification solutions that help customers to innovate and meet their time-to-market pressures for their network-chip designs. By teaming with MoreThanIP, we continue to improve our iSolve solutions for use with Veloce."
