Mentor Graphics Delivers Next-Generation Emulation Solutions for the Verification of High-Speed Ethernet Products
WILSONVILLE, Ore.--March 24, 2011--Mentor Graphics Corp. (NASDAQ:MENT), a leader in high-performance system verification solutions, today announced its next-generation platform to accelerate the verification of 100-Gigabit Ethernet products. This new platform enables network equipment designers to test their complete system, including software and hardware, as well as employ real-world network traffic early in the development cycle—reducing the total system verification process from weeks to hours. The platform consists of the Veloce® family of emulation products and the iSolve™ Ethernet Switch product, which provides a cost-effective and efficient solution to verify multi-port, Ethernet-based designs, and dynamic, accurate verification of networking systems.
New advancements in Ethernet technology are changing the way we work, connect and communicate, and Ethernet remains the universal technology of choice in enterprise Local Area Networks (LANs). With the explosion of Internet Protocol (IP) traffic, and sophisticated applications driving the demand for greater bandwidth inside and outside modern enterprises, users are taking Ethernet to greater speeds and performance in the LAN, as well as extending Ethernet into new market segments.
“New market segments, including multimedia, wireless, storage and metro area networking, are pushing the state of the art in Ethernet-based system verification,” said Eric Selosse, vice president and general manager, Mentor Emulation Division. “We took a new approach to solve these challenges with our iSolve Ethernet Switch product by providing a highly flexible, modular, and user-configurable emulation solution that meets the needs of our most demanding networking customers, and delivering support for speeds from 1Gbit to 100Gbit and beyond.”
When combined with the Veloce product family, the iSolve Ethernet Switch solution delivers a high-performance, large multi-port and easy-to-use system verification environment to develop new and innovative networking products without compromising delivery schedules.
The platform can be used with a traditional In-Circuit Emulation as well as a high-performance Transaction-Based Acceleration mode of operation. The ability to mix and match traditional ICE capabilities with high-performance, Transaction-Based Acceleration demonstrates the Veloce platform’s key benefit as a software-configurable verification platform.
