IP-Maker targets FPGA-based data center storage applications

NVM Express and Universal NandFlash Controller available on 7-series Xilinx FPGAs

July 15, 2014 -- Aix en Provence, France – IP-Maker, the expert in intellectual property (IP) for high performance storage applications, is announcing the availability of its IP portfolio on 7-series Xilinx FPGAs, including NVMe (NVM Express), Universal NandFlash Controller and BCH ECC.

“Using our IPs with Vivado tools and 7-series Xilinx FPGAs will help our customers to benefit from the latest high performance technologies” said Mickael Guyard, product marketing director with IPMaker. “The IPs are available in both Vivado source code and netlist”

The automatic NVMe command processing reduces dramatically the latency and the multi-channel DMA is able to saturate the PCIe bus. That makes a high performance solution for current NandFlashbased, SSD and it is ready to sustain the performances of the next generation of Non-Volatile memory such as MRAM and RRAM.

The ultra-low latency NVMe reference design is available on both Zynq and Virtex-7 FPGAs. It has been ported on the Zynq development board ZC706 from Xilinx and Virtex-7 XpressV7-LP board from PLDA. Both designs provides down to 12ìs latency and up to 350kIOPS with a Gen2 x4 configuration. It will be showcased at the coming on the IP-Maker booth at Flash Memory Summit, Santa Clara, August 5-7.
