ARM DS-5 Supports Freescale i.MX53 Multimedia Applications Processors
Cambridge, UK -- February 24, 2011 ARM announces immediate support for the Freescale i.MX53 family of multimedia applications processors in the ARM® Development Studio 5 (DS-5â¢) and the DSTREAM target connection unit.
The i.MX535 is the latest member of Freescale's highly integrated, power-efficient, ARM Cortexâ¢-A8 processor-based consumer multimedia applications processor family. The i.MX535 is the first i.MX processor to support 1080p multi-standard video playback with industry-leading low power consumption. With up to 1GHz core speed and a faster graphics core, it enables a more responsive user experience.
DS-5 supports code generation, board bring up, and Linux kernel, driver and application development on a wide range of ARM processor-based devices. DS-5 provides an integrated suite of tools with a powerful and intuitive graphical user interface, reducing development cost and shortening time to market.
DS-5 accelerates development on the Freescale i.MX535 and other supported ARM platforms by integrating the target's information in the design flow. With the DS-5 Debugger you can select a target device and the tools automatically configure the target connection and any other device-specific configuration.
Availability
DS-5 v5.4 is available now for Windows and Linux host platforms, and can be evaluated for 30 days free of charge by downloading it from http://www.arm.com/ds5. See it in action ARM will be showing DS-5 at the Embedded World tradeshow in Nuremberg on 1-3 March 2011 at the ARM/Keil booth: hall 10, booth 343.
The demos include performance analysis on a multi-core target using Streamline, and Linux kernel awareness in the DS-5 Debugger.
